The utilization of heat as a method of controlling pests is not new. Heat treatments were introduced in the United States as early as 1911. With restrictions on fumigants, and the upcoming ban on methyl bromide, the future of safe and effective pest control is heat.
Here are some of the advantages of heat vs. chemicals:
- Heat kills pests at all stages of the life cycle (eggs, larvae, pupae, nymphs and adults)

Outdoor temperature generally has no impact on heat treatments, whereas the effectiveness of most fumigants is diminished at temperatures below 95°F.
Our patented heat treatment process uses 100% outside air. This method creates positive pressure and allows even distribution of air throughout the facility, unlike recirculating air. The process generates a calculated four to six air changes each hour, pushing hot air into corners, cracks and crevices, making it virtually impossible for pests to hide in the facility.
We have the ability to use a variety of fuel types allowing us to customize a treatment application for each facility. The fuel types are:
- Propane
- Natural gas
- Electricity
- Steam
- Hot water
Our process, using make-up air heaters, makes it virtually impossible for pests to hide. Using 100% outside air, positive pressure is created for uniform distribution of heated air. This process generates a calculated four to six air changes per hour, pushing hot air into every corner, crack and crevice. Heat goes wherever bed bugs could go. Nothing else does that!
